Contribute to an efficient administration and stable government
Only if the Federal Administration is efficient can it offer good public services. In staff functions, you can support the Federal Council in political affairs and promote coordination between federal offices. In cross-departmental offices, you can help ensure that the roughly 40,000 employees can perform their tasks in an optimal working environment.

Where you can get involved
The general secretariats act as intermediaries between the heads of department and their administrative units. They advise on political planning, coordinate items of business for the attention of Parliament and communicate with the public. They also steer the use of the departments' financial resources via the human resources and finances units.
