Privacy statement
When you apply for a position at the Confederation (this includes the Federal Administration, the federal courts, the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland and Parliamentary Services), you make your personal data available to the recruiting organisational unit.
Storage and use of personal data
A distinction is made between the application profile and application-related data.
1. The application profile
The application profile is created once. Aside from the form of address, full name, the usual correspondence data such as postal address, email address and telephone numbers, information on the first language and the CV are also stored.
You can access your application profile at any time to edit your data or delete the application profile. If you delete your application profile, all data will be anonymised and all attached documents will be deleted. In addition, all current applications are automatically closed. Furthermore, it is possible to revoke the privacy statement at any time; this will also result in the application profile being deleted.
The application profile will also be deleted automatically if it has been inactive for three months. The application profile data may be processed for statistical purposes. It is not possible for conclusions to be drawn about individuals.
2. Application-related data
Application-related data consists of application documents such as letters of motivation, professional, training and continuing professional development certificates, as well as references. In the application profile, you can view your current applications at any time, check their status and withdraw them.
The application-related data will be processed solely in the context of your application. It is only accessible to HR employees and the individuals responsible for the selection process. Under no circumstances is your application-related data passed on to companies or individuals outside the Confederation or used for other purposes.
If you take up a position at the Confederation based on your application, your application documents will be stored in your personnel file. Data and documents relating to applications for other jobs in the Confederation will be deleted or anonymised.
If you applied for a job but received a negative response, your documents will be deleted and your data anonymised no later than three months after the application procedure has been completed. You will not be notified about the deletion or anonymisation of your data.
Right to information
You can request information about which data concerning you is being processed by submitting an information request to the organisational unit designated in the job advertisement.
Measures to protect personal data
The Confederation takes all necessary organisational and technical measures to ensure data security and protection. We would like to point out that your data is stored exclusively in a cloud in Switzerland.
