Get involved in the development of efficient infrastructures
A high quality of life means that the country's infrastructures have to meet high standards. The Federal Administration gives you the opportunity to be involved in infrastructure projects of national importance in areas such as sustainable energy supply, the management of increasing mobility and technical developments resulting from digitalisation. In doing so, you will be working in the interests of future generations.

Where you can get involved
The FOT manages the gradual expansion and financing of the railway infrastructure. It executes the mandates issued by the Federal Council and Parliament, monitors compliance with costs and deadlines, and ensures that public transport is safe.
OFCOM is responsible for ensuring that an efficient communications infrastructure is available throughout Switzerland. In addition, it distributes the revenue from the radio and television fee to the regional broadcasters and the SRG SSR, and ensures that the press benefits from favourable postage costs. It also monitors the universal payment transaction service provided by Swiss Post.
The FOBL builds, maintains and manages the Confederation's civilian properties. These include the Federal Palace, various administrative buildings and Swiss embassies abroad. As the central procurement unit, it buys IT resources, office equipment and publications for the entire Federal Administration.
In the event of disasters and emergencies, the FOCP coordinates cooperation between the police, fire brigade, healthcare services, technical operations and civil protection, and takes care of warning and alerting, training and protective infrastructures. The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) and the Spiez Laboratory for the prevention of nuclear, biological and chemical hazards are part of the FOCP.
ISCeco develops and operates software solutions and web portals such as easygov.ch, the online desk for businesses, for the EAER's administrative units. In doing so, it supports important business processes in the private sector. With the federal GEVER business administration solution, ISCeco also promotes digital collaboration within the Federal Administration.
The Federal Council's energy policy focuses on improving energy efficiency, expanding renewable energies, further developing electricity grids, strengthening energy research and international cooperation. The SFOE puts these principles into practice and draws up effective regulations.
A growing population, increasing mobility, higher demands for residential space, combined with increasingly scarce land resources: these are the sometimes contradictory challenges facing the ARE. It is committed to protecting the landscape, helps to ensure that transport infrastructure is even better coordinated with urban development and oversees the legal basis.
As an IT competence centre, the FOITT supports the Federal Administration's business processes with secure and user- and citizen-friendly IT solutions, and ensures that telecommunications function well in all federal offices both in Switzerland and abroad. It manages standardised workstation systems and integrates and develops customised IT-supported specialist applications.
The FONES is the official platform for security of supply issues. It works closely with the private sector, partner offices and the cantons to ensure that severe short-term shortages in the supply of critical goods and services do not have a major impact on the Swiss population and economy.
FEDRO is responsible for the expansion and maintenance of motorways. In order to further reduce the number of people killed or injured in road accidents, it also implements the “Via sicura” road safety programme. The aim is to achieve this goal by ensuring that only well-trained drivers with safe vehicles are travelling on safe roads.
The FOCA is committed to a high standard of safety in Swiss civil aviation, relying on standards adopted by the international community. In addition to its supervisory activities, it is responsible for the preparation and implementation of aviation policy decisions. It also defends Switzerland's interests in international aviation organisations.
armasuisse is the DDPS competence centre for procurement, technology and real estate. It supplies the Armed Forces and third parties with systems, vehicles, planes, helicopters, equipment and real estate, including 7,500 buildings and facilities, as well as 24,000 hectares of land. As armasuisse manages weapons, equipment and real estate over their entire useful life, it is also responsible for their disposal.
The ISC-FDJP is attached to the General Secretariat of the FDJP. It develops and operates IT applications for the judicial, police and migration authorities in Switzerland. The specific specialist applications facilitate cooperation between the authorities at national, cantonal and communal level, as well as the exchange of information between Switzerland and foreign authorities.
The NCSC's main task is to make Switzerland more secure in cyberspace. It raises awareness and warns about threats, and is the first point of contact for businesses, public services and the population when it comes to cyberissues. In the event of attacks on critical infrastructures, the NCSC supports their operators in dealing with them.
