You will find these occupations solely in the Federal Administration
The Confederation has exclusive responsibility for certain sovereign tasks. These include in particular national defence, international relations, border protection and customs. In these areas, you will find attractive positions that are only available in the Federal Administration, and the necessary training is included.

Military sector
The Swiss Armed Forces actively contribute to security and peace in our country. They defend Switzerland, support the civil authorities in emergencies and promote peace abroad.
The Armed Forces are the largest employer within the Federal Administration. Almost a third of employees work in military occupations. The related tasks and job profiles, by their very nature, cannot be found elsewhere.
Aside from working as a career officer or career non-commissioned officer in the training of recruits and militia cadres, you will find possible areas of employment in the Military Police, Military Flight Service or Special Forces. High-quality training and continuing professional development programmes that create interesting career prospects await you everywhere.
