You are committed to the successful Swiss model and work for the public good.

Working for Switzerland
At the Federal Administration, you will find work that is rewarding. You will take responsibility and do your bit for the wellbeing of the Swiss population. You will have the opportunity to develop innovative solutions in interdisciplinary teams and thereby make a valuable contribution to the high quality of life in our country.

Same job, same money
You are compensated fairly according to the demands of the job and your performance; you can count on equal pay.
We take account of both the qualification requirements and employees' professional and life experience. Depending on an employee's individual circumstances, the basic salary is supplemented with benefits such as residence allowance, family allowance, or enhanced rates of pay for night and weekend work.
We reward a high level of commitment with performance-related salary increases and bonuses.
In line with the constitutional principle of "same job, same money", we regularly review gender pay equality and avoid discrimination.

Health and safety in the workplace
Advice and support help to maintain your physical and psychological wellbeing.
Independent counselling services are available to help you with questions about work, relationships and family, health and finances. We help employees who have fallen ill or suffered an accident to return to work.
We run regular information campaigns and implement occupational health measures to raise employee awareness around health-related topics.

Living diversity
You can develop your individual skills and use your insights to contribute to diversity.
The magic is in the mix. When putting together a team, we take care to ensure a mix of different people and personalities. This enables us to make the most of people's experience, knowledge and skills.
We promote diversity through:
- consistent equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender
- living multilingualism and cultural diversity
- interaction between generations
- a working environment that promotes inclusion

Work-life balance
Thanks to flexible working and time models, you can find a work-life balance to suit your personal needs.
Mobile working
Many Federal Administration tasks can be performed at home, in co-working spaces or while on the move. We support and promote mobile working wherever possible.
Flexible working time models
With the annual hours model, working time is recorded daily, and needs to balance out at the end of the year. With the trust-based working time model (possible for salary bands 18 and above), working time is not recorded.
Part-time working
In principle, all full-time positions are advertised at between 80% and 100%. In the event of the birth or adoption of a child, employees can choose to reduce their working percentage by up to 20%, and then increase it again later.
Other benefits:
- Job sharing
- Sabbatical
- Cost-sharing in the case of supplementary childcare
- Advice from the Personnel and Social Counselling Service of the Federal Administration on looking after relatives

Attractive occupational benefits plan
You will receive benefits that go beyond the minimum prescribed by law.
Federal Administration employees are insured in the federal pension scheme of the Publica pension fund – right from the first Swiss franc of salary that is subject to AHV and insurance (no lower threshold).
In the event of a salary decrease after the age of 58 – for example if the employee reduces their working percentage – pension coverage can be continued unchanged.
Part-time employees receive better conditions, because the coordination deduction takes the working time percentage into consideration.
The employees assumes at least 50% of the savings contributions. Employees can also improve their personal pension plan through voluntary savings contributions.
